How the HOA Community Score works

Every HOA on HOAs Graded is scored against the same 100-point rubric — five dimensions, 20 points each. The score is recalculated automatically whenever the underlying data changes. Below is the full rubric, with the exact rules and the data sources behind each dimension.

Letter grades

  • A+90–100%
  • A80–89%
  • B+70–79%
  • B60–69%
  • C50–59%
  • D40–49%
  • Fbelow 40%
  • NDFewer than 2 dimensions have data

Only dimensions with data are counted toward the percentage. Data Completeness always counts.

How grades update

Grades are recalculated automatically and immediately whenever new data is added or changed — including new approved resident reviews, newly filed litigation records, uploaded documents, or admin updates to HOA financial and governance fields.

Dispute process

If you believe a data point that contributed to your HOA's grade is inaccurate, email disputes@hoasgraded.com with the HOA name, the dimension in question, and any supporting documentation. We review every dispute within 10 business days and update the record when warranted.

Disclaimer. Grades reflect publicly available data and verified user submissions only. HOAs Graded does not have access to private association records and the score should be treated as one input among many when making decisions about an HOA.
